Season's Treatings 2022
EXTRA TICKETS JUST ADDED!
Express your seasonal creativity as you reuse Halloween candy to decorate a gingerbread house to take home. Join us at Canal Center Plaza in North Old Town Alexandria for an afternoon of decorating fun and holiday arts market. Stay to watch the Holiday Boat Parade of Lights on the Potomac River starting at 4:30 pm.
Each ticket includes one pre-made gingerbread house (suitable for 2 people), frosting, and unlimited access to an expansive candy buffet. Parking in underground garage is included in ticket price.
For everyone’s health and safety, we will space tables to allow for social distancing. Masks are optional.

FAQs
What are the times?
This event is ticketed and is offered twice on Saturday, Dec. 3: 1-2:30 and 3:30-5. Each session will open for ticket-holders 15 minutes before the start time. You are welcome to come any time in that window, but you will need to be finished by the end time.
What’s included in the ticket price?
All tickets include:
- gingerbread house, icing, and candy
- table and tools for decorating
- parking pass(es) in underground garage
Reserved and VIP tables also include refreshments for your group.
Is this a class?
This is a fun, family-friendly event for you to do at your pace. We’ll provide the materials (gingerbread houses, candy, icing), inspiration, and a table. You provide the creativity and decorate your house however you’d like.
Can I see the Alexandria Holiday Boat Parade from Canal Center Plaza?
Yes! This is one of the best locations for seeing the parade boats gather around 4:30 pm.
I can’t attend this year. Can I still support UpCycle?
Yes! You can support UpCycle by making a holiday donation. You can also shop at UpCycle, come to a program or spread the word about our work.
Will you accept materials donations at this event?
Unfortunately, we can’t. However, you can easily make an appointment to donate at our center located at 5380-D Eisenhower Ave. Make an appointment here.

Too much Halloween candy? Donate to UpCycle Creative Reuse Center for our Season’s Treatings gingerbread house decorating party.
Drop off sealed, wrapped candy to UpCycle during our regular shopping hours, through December 1st. Please do not leave candy outside the door if we are not open.
