Reggio Inspired Explorations for Pre-K Children Class Reflections
March 20, 2013 - End of Session Reflection
We have enjoyed spending time with your children and observing them as they worked and played with various materials. After working with clay for six weeks the children developed a strong understanding of its properties. For a couple weeks they explored clay using only their hands as tools. Their work changed as they used rocks to mold the clay, and later with the addition wire, tile and wooden pegs they worked together to illustrate ideas.
During the second half of the class, each week, the children worked with balls, tubes and ramps to explore gravity and motion. This part of the class provided children many opportunities to come up with ideas and theories and then to negotiate with each other to build and test their ideas.
We hope to see your children back next session. We have collected some of their ideas and are already thinking about materials and plans for next time.

February 6, 2013 - Coming Together
Our class gathered together today around a clay exploration, which allowed us to get to know one another and share a common experience that will be revisited in future classes. We also explored the properties of light, and we collaged and constructed with reusable materials.
