Volunteer Opportunities
DONATIONS AND MATERIALS ORGANIZING
UpCycle has a constantly evolving inventory of materials and supplies based on the donations we receive from businesses and residents. Our donations and materials handlers sort and shelve donations, assess the overall organization of the shop, and ensure that the donations we accept are clean and damage free.
Commitment: 1 or more hours/visit
volunteer times: Wednesdays & Fridays from 12-6p, Saturdays 10a-4p
TINKER TIME ATTENDANT
Tinker Time is open studio where customers explore and use reuse materials. Duties include setting up classroom for tinker time; greeting participants and orienting them to Tinker Time; refilling supplies as needed; and tidying studio after session.
Commitment: 2 or more hours/week
Wednesdays: 3-6p and Saturdays 1:30-3:00p
COMMUNITY OUTREACH
The following positions enable UpCycle to engage the community to create art in various ways:
-DROP-IN STUDIO FACILITATOR - Share your art or craft with the public on a Saturday morning. Supplies provided by UpCycle.
COMMITMENT: Variable
-SPECIAL EVENTS COORDINATOR - research and plan for UpCycle to participate in community events related to our mission.
COMMITMENT: Variable
-SCOUT OUTREACH COORDINATOR - Develop activities to enable Boy and Girl Scouts to earn their badges.
COMMITMENT: Variable
VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR
UpCycle’s volunteer coordinator recruits, trains and schedules volunteers and collaborates with staff on new ways to utilize volunteer support.
COMMITMENT: 2-4 hours/week
FUNDRAISING & GRANT WRITING
UpCycle relies on private and public funding to operate. Grant writers are needed to research and apply for grants. We also need volunteers to coordinate fundraising campaigns and events.
